SOLIHULL Life Opportunities (SoLO) CEO Janet Down has been awarded and MBE for service to the community.
For the past 17 years Janet has seen the charity grow from its humble beginnings to a charity which now offers so much to its members.
SoLO works with children and adults with a learning disability within Solihull and the surrounding areas providing them with activities that are geared to increase their independence, develop their skills and reduce their isolation.
Jan Prior, Volunteer Chair of SoLO and parent of a young man with severe learning disabilities said: “Her leadership and her enthusiasm have been a shining example to so many together with her desire to provide quality experiences and fun for its members, despite many challenges along the way.
