Solihull ladies outdoor fitness classes return

SOLIHULL Council has given the green light for an outdoor fitness class to return for a sixth season in Olton.

Running for 22 weeks from early May to late September Peachy in the Park is for females looking to get outside in the fresh air and get fit.

Classes are designed and instructed by Solihull Personal Trainer Jemma Richards.

She said: “The sentiment of peachy is that ‘everything is just fine’.

“It’s a state of happiness, where exercising is a fun experience with a relaxed atmosphere.

“There are no drill sergeants. Don’t be fooled by the smiles though, you’ll work as hard as you play.”

A typical class will be a blend of HIIT style body weight exercises, running, skipping and resistance equipment exercises intermingled with friendly team sports games including rounders, cricket and even ‘Peach Volleyball’.

Your step count and calorie burn will be sky high – perfect for getting fitter and losing weight.

Classes do not go ahead in extreme weather conditions like heavy rain or wind.

Jemma added: “Peachy is about harnessing the feel-good power of nice weather.

“We don’t mind a bit of light rain, in fact it can feel great to workout in.

“However, if the weather truly is awful you have two choices; your place is simply rolled over to the next available class, or you can take part in a live online workout with the instructor instead.”

Based at Barn Lane Recreation Ground in the Olton area of Solihull, classes launch on Wednesday 3rd May 2023.

There are plans for pop up classes in other parks in the region in the following months.

If you’re keen to join the class of ‘23 then book early, places are limited to just 16 per session.
