SOLIHULL housing association, Platform Housing Group has donated £1,250 to Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid so that they can purchase gifts for the children and women that they are supporting over the festive period.

Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid is a registered charity, providing over 40 years of frontline domestic violence and abuse support services to women and children living in the area.

Platform’s Chief Operations Officer, Marion Duffy said: “Domestic violence can happen to anyone and can destroy lives which is why we have donated to this vitally important charity to hopefully, enable them to spread a little Christmas cheer for the women and children they are helping.

“During Platform’s Christmas Kindness Campaign, we will donate over £35,000 to support vital local charities, like Women’s Aid, who offer much needed support to women and children in our communities, who are experiencing domestic violence and abuse.”

Anna Fawcett, income generation and corporate relationships manager at Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid said: “We are so grateful to Platform Housing Group for their donation and support as part of their Christmas Kindness Campaign.

“This year, with the cost of living crisis, we were worried that we would not receive the same level of support with Christmas gifts and donations as we have in previous years. This funding will mean we can purchase gifts for women and their children to enjoy this festive season. Thank you!”
