SOLIHULL hospital radio station, BHBN radio, have won Hospital Radio Station of the Year 2023.
The station broadcasts to patients at the Queen Elizabeth, Women’s, City, Heartlands, Good Hope, Solihull and Royal Orthopaedic Hospitals.
BHBN radio are a registeed charity and run entirely by volunteers.
Paul Stanley also won Gold for Male Presenter of the Year.
Paul lives in Solihull and is also their Song Request Collector for the Solihull Hospital.
A spokesperson for the station said: “We are all so thrilled for Paul who as attempted twice before to win this award. His hard work to better his presenting and interviewing style has surely paid dividends to finally be awarded this accolade.
“It has not been the happiest time for BHBN since November 2022 being unable to broadcast live programmes due to water ingress from a leaking roof affecting the most of the electrical supply and this award is a great boost to the dedicated team of volunteer presenters.”
Live Shows finally hit the airwaves on Easter Monday with a full day of with BHBN presenters.
