MALVERN Park is now home to fruit trees following a planting session by youngsters.
Fruit trees including apples and pears are now growing near to the park’s tennis courts.
The mayor of Solihull, Stuart Davis, joined the local children, Councillor Ken Hawkins and a team from nearby hotel Voco St John’s, who put on a warming buffet, to form an orchard.
The council’s environment team LoveSolihull said: “It was an amazing morning, thank you so much to everyone who joined us in Malvern Park to plant our ‘Voco St Johns Community Orchard’. We created a legacy in the park that will grow and support the environment for years to come.”
