A CUPPA and cake helped raise funds to support those affected by cancer across Solihull.

Cancer sufferers, families, friends, work colleagues, and customers all joined forces to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Hair by Sharon Estelle on Hermitage Road, Solihull, welcomed clients and workers to its annual coffee morning.

The hair salon raised more than £1,000 which will go towards helping people living with cancer in the UK.

There were donations of cakes, hand-knitted cardigans and tombola prizes on offer.

Manager Sharon Estelle said children from Playpals nursery popped by to buy cakes.

She said: “Our volunteer kept going weather was against us but no she still kept inviting passers by to come and buy a cake, have a go on our games how many smarties in the jar and name the gnome to which a client made £1 a go.

“I could continue praising my team Shannon, Shanna,~April, Millie, Nova and senior Shannon – they all worked hard and we had fun hosting and special thank you to Cyndi and all our amazing customers that took the time to support this charity as I’m sure we will host again.”
