Solihull families asked to consider fostering

WITH over 600 children across the Midlands needing a safe home every month, more local families are being asked to consider Fostering as a new or additional career.

The Fostering Network continues to highlight a shortfall of over 10,000 Foster families in the UK.

Independent and therapeutic Fostering provider, By the Bridge, holds information evenings to give Solihull residents the opportunity to learn more about this rewarding career – helping children from the local community to feel happy, safe and valued.

Keeley Purslow, regional manager from By the Bridge Fostering, said :“We want to give people the opportunity to meet us face to face to ask any questions that had been getting in the way of their pursuing a Fostering career.

“A Foster Parent will have a huge impact on a child’s life, helping them to improve their confidence and self-esteem, and build a brighter, stronger future.

“Fostering is such a rewarding career, and one which our families tell us they wish they had come to sooner in life.

“With the continuing shortfall of Foster Parents across the country and the fact that we are asked to find homes for more than 600 children every month across the Midlands alone, it’s never been more important to find new and committed families and individuals who want to offer children the support and encouragement they need to do well in life.

“We want to encourage anyone who is thinking about Fostering to pop along or get in touch to find out more – it really is the best job you’ll ever have.”

Who can Foster:

We welcome Fostering families and individuals who want to Foster full-time as well as on a respite or emergency basis – as well as those experienced in Parent & Child Fostering – so no matter what your situation, if you want to help children to build a brighter future, we want to hear from you.

We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, religion, marital status and whether you have children of your own or not.

All we ask is that you must have a spare bedroom for a child to call their own – in a stable home – but you don’t need to own it!

For more information about this event or Fostering in general, pop along on the 19th to the Arden Hotel from 2pm; call 0800 6446230 or visit www.bythebridge.co.uk
