SOLIHULL entrepreneur Dean Leather has lived in the borough for the majority of his adult life after moving from Sheldon where he spent most of his childhood.

He owns and runs two successful businesses, IML Technology, an IT solutions provider to hundreds of organisations across the UK, and Central Home Buyers, a trusted provider of residential property services such as home buying, letting, land buying and building.

Both of his businesses are supporting grass roots sports by sponsoring The Glades Football Club and Gilmore Kickboxing Academy, both of which are based in Solihull.

They are also key sponsors of Solihull Moors Football Club for the second consecutive year.

Explaining why he was so committed to Solihull and the surrounding areas, Dean said: “I am personally involved at the Glades Football club and now manage the Under 7s as one of my two lads plays for them.

“Last year I was asked to be assistant manager to the U10s and got a great feel for the the whole set up and wanted to do more than just watch the games.

“I helped out on the management side while watching my other lad. It’s fantastic to see the kids running round in the fresh air, exercising and being part of a team.

“My lads also recently joined Gilmore’s kickboxing academy after their free two week trial.

“I was so impressed with Paul and his staff, they are also very passionate about what they do and try to teach the kids about right things in life as well as self-defence, which in turn builds their self-confidence which is very important.”

Over the past 15 years Dean’s commitment to the local area has been proven time and time again with his employment of local workers and investing in their continued personal development.

Dean added: “Both of my businesses are doing very well now and have grown year on year over the past decade so I think it’s important to sponsor good causes and the development of grass roots sport for children in my local area is something I am committed to and proud to be part of.”
