CHARITABLE Silhillians dug deep to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
The Solihull branch of the RNLI collected £1,266 during its annual Lifeboat Day in Solihull town centre and on Dovehouse Parade, Warwick Road.
Press and publicity officer, David Herriott, said: “The Branch is pleased to announce that this year’s collection has given us better results than 2022 despite that fact that it appeared that less people were prepared to donate.
“We are extremely grateful to all those who did support us.”
As a charity independent of government, the RNLI relies totally on the generosity of the public.
Its volunteer crews give their time for free, but they need training, well-maintained equipment, lifeboats and shore facilities.
