A SOLIHULL couple celebrated their platinum anniversary with a coffee and a quiz.
Eddie and Jill were also joined by Saqib Bhatti , Meriden and Solihull East MP, as the marked 70 years of marriage at Hampton House.
Eddie, aged 96, and Jill, 93, married at Knowle Church in 1955, after meeting when Eddie was playing trumpet in a local band.
Over the past seven decades, they have built a loving and close-knit family that now includes two children, three grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren.
Their commitment to each other is matched by a lifelong dedication to their local community.
Until recently, both Eddie and Jill were still volunteering at Solihull Hospital, demonstrating a continued spirit of service well into their 90s.
They remain living independently and are described as “full of life and love as ever.”
To mark the occasion, the couple received a special card from The King.
Mr Bhatti said: “It was a real honour to meet Eddie and Jill and celebrate this incredible milestone with them. Their love, warmth, and commitment to each other and to our community is nothing short of inspiring.
“Their continued commitment to our community, including many years of volunteering at Solihull Hospital, is a testament to their character.
“They are a shining example of the values that bind our communities together, kindness, service, and resilience.”
