The injunction, which was granted on March 13, is for three years will prevent 14 members of the Cassidy family from entering or occupying 37 sites across the borough including Tudor Grange Park, Knowle Park and Palmers Rough Receation Ground.

This will prohibit the individuals, either by themselves or by instructing or encouraging or permitting others, from:

* Removing or damaging any fence, padlock, lock, bolt or other means of securing any location within Solihull;

* Entering with a view to setting up an encampment on any of the 37 identified sites;

* Entering or occupying any of the 37 identified sites for residential purposes whether temporary or otherwise including occupying the land with caravans, mobile homes, or other residential structures;

* Entering or occupying any land at the 37 identified sites;

* Depositing, leaving or dumping any rubbish, building materials, waste products or other refuse anywhere in Solihull except in a receptacle designed for waste disposal.

Councillor Tony Dicicco, cabinet member for stronger communities and partnerships, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with this decision.

“For a number of years these people have caused a significant nuisance to our borough, including criminal damage, anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping, littering and abuse to local residents.

“While our work to prevent unauthorised encampments in Solihull will continue, securing this injunction is a crucial milestone and one we are extremely pleased to be granted.”
