SOLIHULL Council has stepped up its town centre masterplan works and has drawn up proposals for a landmark office block.
The latest plans will form part of the ‘Homer Road Gateway’ site.
Plans are currently being shaped for an office scheme with over 10,000sq m of new Grade A office space in a key location close to Touchwood shopping centre and Solihull railway station.
Located at the corner of Homer Road and Station Road in Solihull town centre, the Gateway site offers huge potential for investment and development, council chiefs say.
The scheme will form part of the council’s new town centre masterplan which provides a clear blueprint for future investment and development in the town centre over the next 20 years.
It is also designed to be sustainable and fit with the council’s goal of a low-carbon future.
As part of the pre-planning application stage the latest designs are being shared with local residents, businesses and stakeholders who are being invited to view and comment on the proposals.
This will be fed in to the design process prior to the submission of a planning application later this month.
Approval for the first stage of demolition has already been secured with some initial site clearance set to start in October.
