Solihull company raises money for children's hospital

THERE were smiles all round as employees at a Solihull software company raised more than £3,500 and volunteered at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Over the past year, Contigo have been raising funds and volunteering at the hospital to raise spirits and entertain children.

The money was raised from a variety of events including quiz nights, cake bake sales and employees taking part in an extreme muddy challenge.

In addition, team members were involved in running art and craft sessions in the Accident and Emergency waiting room, helping to decorate the diabetes home care unit for Christmas and distributing presents to children on the wards.

Adrian Bullock Contigo managing director comments: “We were shocked to learn that 30 per cent of children affected by a rare disease die before their fifth birthday, and wanted to raise as much money as possible to help make this specialist facility a reality. “We are delighted that the hospital raised the funding required and that our fundraising will be used to help with the ongoing maintenance of this fantastic unit.”
