Solihull Community Housing tenant evicted and banned from Knowle house

Solihull Editorial 25th Apr, 2018   0

A TENANT has been evicted and banned from a Knowle property following continual and persistent anti-social behaviour.

It follows action by Solihull Community Housing (SCH) against the tenant.

Ian Bradley has been handed a Closure Order from Coventry Magistrates Court which prevents the tenant from entering his property.

Mr Bradley was the sole tenant of the property and over a two-year period there was said to be continual and persistent anti-social behaviour including the smell of cannabis, playing of loud music along with domestic disputes.

The property will be closed for three months until July 22.

Mr Bradley will be required to find alternative accommodation.

If Mr Bradley enters or remains on the property during this time, he can be arrested and/or fined.

SCH Chief Executive, Fiona Hughes, said: “Pursuing legal action is always a last resort.

“But in cases such as this where a tenancy agreement is continually broken we are left with no choice.

“Once the property is returned to us after three months we can then re-let it to someone in need of a home.”
