Solihull Citizens Advice welcomes new chair

Solihull Editorial 28th Feb, 2024   0

CITIZENS Advice Bureau Solihull (CASB) has announced the appointment of its new Chair.

After nearly two years of service on the current Trustee Board of the charity, Daniel Bliss succeeds outgoing chair Carole Hodson this month.

The cost-of-living crisis has driven unprecedented demand for the services that CASB provides.

The widely respected organisation offers information, advice and support with a wide range of issues such as money, benefits, energy concerns, employment problems, health, relationships, and consumer affairs.

At 30 years old, Daniel Bliss makes history as the youngest person to hold this position in the 60-year history of CASB and is thought to be one of the youngest chairs among Citizens Advice branches nationwide.

The appointment has been endorsed by local politicians.

MP for Meriden, Saqib Bhatti MBE, said: “I congratulate Daniel on this new appointment and pay tribute to Citizens Advice for they do in the Borough of Solihull.

“Daniel is a conscientious and passionate advocate for Citizens Advice, and I look forward to working with him in the future.”

Daniel Bliss, Chair of Citizens Advice Solihull Borough, said: “It’s a privilege to be appointed to this role.

“There is an outstanding team that transforms people’s lives every single day.

“Since the COVID-19, there has been a greater demand for Citizens Advice services across Solihull, and we assisted over 3,000 people with more than 16,000 issues in 2023.

“I look forward to working with the community and all stakeholders to make a positive difference across Solihull.”
