THE CITIZENS Advice charity shop in Solihull was broken into this week, with thieves taking the collection box.
Shop workers said the incident is particularly devastating as it occurred during Volunteers Week, a time meant for celebration and gratitude for their dedicated team.
The charity shop is run solely by volunteers, including the shop coordinator, Liz Shelly.
During the cost-of-living crisis, the demand for help and support in the local community has never been greater.
With resources already stretched, the charity relies on the much-needed revenue from the shop to sustain their services.
Staff are now working with West Midlands Police, and urge anyone who saw anything or has any information to contact them.
A spokesperson from Citizens Advice said: “In light of this unfortunate event, we appeal for support from our incredible local community.
“If any businesses or individuals can assist with repairing the smashed window, please get in touch with our CEO, Kerry Turner.”
