A SOLIHULL carer went the extra two miles when she took on a marathon in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Priscilla Tickner, a caregiver for home care company, Home Instead Solihull, ran through fields, climbed fences, was chased by sheep, splashed through puddles and negotiated grassy slopes to complete the Beyond Badminton Trail in just under six hours.
To her surprise, the extreme underfoot conditions added an extra two miles to her route, taking her total distance up to 28 miles.
So far she has raised £70 for the charity in honour of those she has cared for who suffer from the disease.
Priscilla said: I have never been a very sporty person but having completed Couch to 5K a few years ago I have slowly been running longer distances.
“Twenty-eight miles has been the ultimate challenge for me, and I am so proud of my achievement.
