Solihull businesses join forces to bring sweet treats to older people this Christmas

SOLIHULL businesses have joined forces to collect sweet treats for Age UK Solihull in the run up to Christmas.

Employees at Birmingham Business Park and contacts of local homecare provider Home Instead Solihull and recruitment consultants, Morgan Parkes have donated chocolates and biscuits over the past weeks.

These will be handed out to those who attend Age UK Solihull’s social clubs, the Linking People Together group or who are part of the befriending scheme.

Age UK Solihull is a local charity which helps over 10,000 older people in the borough each year with the challenges faced in later life.

Lorraine Hart, fundraising manager at the charity said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for many of our clients who face the festive season on their own.

“Having a little gift given by a local person can lift the spirits and reassure them that they are not alone, and someone is thinking of them at Christmas.

“We are so grateful to the three companies for pulling together to coordinate gift collections.”
