Solihull 41 Club hands over £1,000 to Marie Curie

KIND-HEARTED members at Solihull 41 Club handed over £1,000 to Marie Curie.

The group, who are all former members of the Round Table, donated much-needed funds to the Marsh Lane hospice as part of its support to those in the borough.

The group gets its charity funds from the support they give to Round Table in organising the annual Fireworks Display in Tudor Grange Park, and the Christmas Santa run in the familiar Wendy House around the streets of Solihull.

This year’s funds have gone mainly to the Marie Curie Hospice in Solihull, with smaller donations to Solihull Samaritans, SSAFA Solihull, the Welcome charity supporting SIAS, Solihull Young Carers and Solihull Mind.

The Club’s Immediate Past Chairman, Nick Fox, said: “We have tremendous fun in assisting Round Table with the fantastic work they do organising both the fireworks display and the Santa run, and in appreciation they let us choose where some of the proceeds go.

“As the funds are raised entirely from local residents, it’s only right that local worthy causes benefit from their generosity”

Nina Baker, Community Fundraiser at the Solihull Marie Curie Hospice, added: “We really do appreciate all the hard work that takes place around the Borough in order to raise funds for the hospice, and the 41 Club’s kind donation is a splendid example of this.

“I do thank them and all other groups, and individuals, for their generosity, without which we would not be able to provide the high levels of service we strive to maintain.”
