MADELEINE Hancock is doing her bit to give cancer a knockout punch.
The senior associate at ‘Simon Burt The Estate Agent’ is taking part in a charity boxing match this Saturday (March 25) to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK.
Her inspiration to don the boxing gloves at the Ultra White Collar Boxing event at Stoneleigh Park is her mum and grandma who have both been struck by – and fought off – breast cancer.
Maddy has been on a gruelling, intensive eight-week training schedule for the event – and has promised to give it everything, both physically and mentally, to win on the night.
Speaking ahead of the fight Maddy said: “All I ask of you is that maybe you could support me.
“No matter how small your donation every bit helps the fight.”
She added: “Without a doubt there will be blood, sweat and tears.
“I’m probably going to take a few knocks, but if all of that means you would part with your hard earned cash then it’s worth every bit of pain that I am about to feel.
“I have never boxed before in my life and to be honest the nerves have kicked in a little now it’s finally a reality.”
