A SHOCKING sexual assault took place near a bus stop in Kingshurst after a woman was followed home.

It happened on Dalewood Road, Kingshurst, Solihull, at around 12.30am on May 26.

Police say a woman was on her way home when she was approached by two men who then got on her bus.

One of the men then followed her off the bus and forced her into a position where he could touch her inappropriately until she was able to force him off.

She was not seriously injured during the encounter and police are appealing for information.

A Solihull Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information after a sexual assault in the early hours of May 26 on Dalewood Road, Kingshurst.

“At around 12.30am a woman was waiting for a bus from Birmingham city centre when she was approached by two men.

“She walked away and later boarded the number 55 bus home.

“After a few stops she noticed the same men get on the bus, sit near her and start talking to her again.

“When she got off at her stop they followed her.

“One of the men continued to follow her down the road as the other one stopped at the bus stop.

“As she approached her house, he grabbed her in a sexual way and made suggestive comments and gestures towards her.

“She continued walking away when he pushed her against a car and continued to touch her inappropriately.

“She managed to force him off her and run home, where she was able to report the incident to the police.

“Fortunately she wasn’t seriously injured in this assault but was very shaken and scared.

“He is described as Asian in his late 20s with short dark hair. He was wearing a brown coat and jeans.”
