A SHIRLEY security specialists has posted a record £67million year.

MAN Commercial Protection, which was founded by current chef executive Iain McCallister and his father Sam, has seen revenues rise by 22 per cent over the last 12 months, creating 400 new jobs in the process -taking its total workforce to 1,700.

It has been the Solihull firm’s busiest period for event work, covering the London Marathon, dates on Taylor Swift’s record-breaking The Eras Tour and major assignments for Queensberry Promotions in the UK and overseas, including the Fury v Usyk fights.

The company has also seen significant growth in the corporate world with new contracts secured for high profile names in the automotive, banking, finance, property and oil sectors.

Iain, who was a nightclub doorman before launching the business in 1993, said: “It has been a very rewarding year for the company as we continue to raise standards and change perceptions of what the security industry is all about.

“The high-profile concerts, sporting and major events are what hit the headlines, but it’s our everyday work that is really fuelling our expansion, with a surge in the number of firms using our concierge, CCTV monitoring, security guarding and keyholding services.

“We have been recruiting the next generation of talent for more than a decade now, with new apprentices joining whilst previous ones are now holding managerial and heads of department positions.”

MAN Commercial Protection is continuing to introduce new training and personal development courses for its team members, also opening up its Training Academy in Solihull to other professionals working in the sector.

Technology is another area Iain and the management team are keen to focus on in 2025, building on the initial success of improved time and attendance monitoring, advanced keyholding systems and its new E-Guard intruder detection system.

Iain said: “Many clients will be looking to save costs where they can. Technology and artificial intelligence (AI) will be big trends in our industry, and we are working in partnership with our customers to understand how we can build these more into our approach without losing the personal touch we are renowned for.

“Our industry has sometimes been perceived as being slow to change and that’s no longer the case. Whether its embracing tech or through continuous personal development, our sector is transforming the way things happen.”
