Shirley retirement home invites community for Macmillan coffee morning

A SHIRLEY retirement village is inviting member son the community to enjoy coffee, cake and friendly company at its Woolmans Lodge development to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event, which is part of the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign, takes place on September 8 from 10.30am to 12 noon at the Churchill Retirement Living development on Solihull Road.

Visitors will be treated to coffee, delicious cakes and biscuits in the Owners’ Lounge, plus Churchill Retirement Living will donate £5 to Macmillan for every visitor who attends.

Churchill Retirement Living has raised over £500,000 for the charity since 2009.




Churchill’s regional marketing manager, Bernadette Hennelly, said: “We are delighted to once again be able to invite people to our developments in person for Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

“These events are not only a fantastic way to raise money for a very worthwhile cause, but also an opportunity to get the local community together and create new friendships and connections after a difficult couple of years.”
