SHIRLEY Lions were welcome visitors to the Green Lane Special Needs Playgroup on Thursday when Lions President Ken Barker handed over a cheque for £1,000 towards the cost of recently installed soft landing material on the centre’s garden area.

The playgroup, run by Solihull Children’s Special Needs Association, offers unique individual care to pre-school children with a range of disabilities.

The Association’s Chair, Jo Brown said: “We are sincerely grateful to Shirley Lions for this most generous gift.

“The specially designed surface will avoid our volunteers having to wait for the grass to dry before taking children outside to play and will really extend the range of our activities.”
