COVENT Garden’s Christmas tree has been hand picked and felled in Shirley ready to spread festive cheer in the capital.
Woods Farm selected a magnificent 40-year-old, 55-foot Norwegian Spruce to take centre stage in London’s West End.
The spectacular tree was handpicked by a team who searched the 200-acre festive forest for a tree with a particularly striking appearance, one with a straight trunk and a dense, full top.
Ahead of its unvieiling at the launch of Covent Garden’s world-famous Christmas Lights display on November 12 a dedicated team of professionals, assisted by a 20-foot crane, have been adorning it with 30,000 dazzling lights and 200 baubles.
This marks the 15th year Covent Garden has sourced its signature tree from Woods Farm, which also supplies festive trees to families across the country, including notable locations such as Downing Street and Windsor Castle.
