STETSONS and cowboy boots are at the ready as preparations for Shirley Carnival get underway.

Local dancers and musical groups will be performing at Shirley Park on Saturday, July 9, at this year’s Cowboy and Indian-themed carnival.

There will also be lasoo, knife and whip acts, a Bow and arrow demonstrations and the chance for carnival-goers to get their dancing shoes out and have a go at line dancing.

Punch and Judy will be making their way to the Wild West and there will be rides and activities for children to enjoy.

Carnival chairman, Gillian Conlon said they will be raising money for the Lions own projects as well as local, national and international causes.
