Shirley Carnival 2021 rescheduled due to Covid-19 restrictions extended

Solihull Editorial 6th Jul, 2021   0

THIS YEAR’S Shirley Carnival has been pushed back due to the extension of the current Covid-19 restrictions.

The annual event was set to go ahead this Saturday, July 10, but organisers, Shirley Lions, have said due to the Prime Minister’s decision to delay the relaxation of Covid restrictions it will now take place on August 28.

From noon there will be plenty on offer at Shirley Park for all from the Shirley Pipe Band to punch and Judy as well as the usual rides and stalls.

New for this year there will be a a colour maze for the children and an inflatable public house for the adults to enjoy.

Carnival chairman Colin Buckley said: “This year’s carnival should be a real pick me up for the public as we hopefully return to some semblance of normality.”

Entrance costs £2 and funds raised will go towards the Lions projects in Solihull, nationally and internationally.

Anyone who wants a stall on the day should contact Shirley Lions on 0345 833 9547.
