A SHIRLEY care home has been given a festive make over.
Residents and staff at Fountains care home got out the tinsel, unravelled the fairy lights and decked the halls ready for a host of Christmas celebrations.
They have been busy creating home-made bunting, wreaths, and snowflakes to make the home as festive as can be.
The residents have also been crafting home-made decorations for the Christmas tree which they all helped to decorate.
Deputy manager, Zara Friend said: “Christmas is such a magical time and our residents love nothing better than to spend time creating decorations for the home and then we all help to put them up together. It is so special to be able to share these rituals and we all love to see the home decorated and filled with twinkly lights.”
Betty and Jack residents at Fountains care home talked about how it takes them back to their own childhood when the whole family used to decorate the tree together with all kinds of different home-made baubles and paper chains, it was always such a special time.
Betty said: “I just love making my own festive wreath and seeing it upon my door, if I had my way we’d never take it down!”
