A SHIRLEY care home welcomed three guide dogs.
Residents at Fountains care home were pleasantly surprised to see their new furry friends visiting them in their home.
Guide Dog UK representative Helen spoke about the work and dedication in place to train and support a guide dog.
Resident Anne North said: “As a child we used to have Labrador’s as the family pet. They were always so friendly and such intelligent animals. I’m so glad to see such a positive outcome of residents taking part in this event.”
General manager Zara Friend said: “We knew that having them here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus.
“We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”
