RESIDENTS at a Shirley care home welcomed Solihull Mayor, Councillor Shahin Ashraf.
The Mayor and her consort, Jehangir Malik, were given a tour of Fountains Care Home as part of the Stratford Road home’s open days.
The duo visited the Bistro, where the Mayor became spoke with some of the home’s residents and family members.
The Mayor praised the kindness and respect she had witnessed at Fountains, and complimented the décor and facilities at the care home.
Hilda Townsend ,Fountains Care Home resident, said: “I always wanted to meet the Solihull Mayor, and it was such a pleasure.
“The whole experience was fantastic, she truly was a polite and kind spirit, and she didn’t rush and spoke to everyone.”
General manager, Sara King, said: “It was such a delight to have our local Mayor come and visit Fountains Care Home.
“I know that everyone enjoyed meeting and getting to know her. We very much look forward to having the Mayor come and visit us again soon.”
