Sheldon locals raise £480 for Cats Protection

Solihull Editorial 20th May, 2017   0

PET OWNERS across Sheldon have been praised for raising hundreds of pounds for Cats Protection.

More than £480 was raised by the local community at an open day at YourVets Sheldon on Heath Road.

A total of 400 people attended the charity event, which included raffles, a name the bear competition, clinic tours and a face painter, as well as free advice from YourVets staff and representatives from Cats Protection.

The new veterinary practice opened late last year following a £360,000 investment, which transformed the former Radley Arms pub into hi-tech operating theatres and consulting rooms.

Emily Long, practice manager at YourVets Sheldon, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from local pet owners since opening in December.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who was able to attend the event and raise much needed money for this hugely important organisation.”

Cats Protection supports more than 200,000 cats every year through its rehoming, reuniting and neutering programmes.
