SOLIHULL Council has extended its level three cold weather alert.
This means that there is an average temperature of 2°C or less with possible ice and heavy snow is expected in the next 48 hours.
The Met Office is forecasting could get down to -4°C on Friday (February 12) in the borough.
The council is advising residents to heat their homes to 18°C or warmer and to remember to have regular hot and cold meals.
It also suggests to keep active, dress warmly and wear non-slip shoes when going out.
Any concerns for the health and welfare should be directed to the emergency services.
