A SOLIHULL school’s archery club has helped a national project hit the bull’s eye at this year’s British Muslim Awards.

Ninestiles archery club joined forces with Archery GB’s Project Rimaya for a number of years in a bid to increase participation in archery among Muslim communities.

Chris Guerin and Abda Shaheen from the school were invited to attend the awards ceremony, where the project received a Highly Commended award, in recognition of their contributions to the project.

The Awards is one of the most prestigious events in the British Muslim community, recognising and celebrating the achievements and successes of individuals, groups and businesses

The school has had an archery club for over ten years and has worked closely with Archery GB who have helped Ninestiles to upgrade their equipment, expand the club and enter external competitions.

Archery GB have also supported two members of staff at the school to gain their Level 1 coaching qualifications.
