School holds 'futures day' to inspire children

A CASTLE Bromwich school hosted their second annual futures day, to inspire and educate pupils.

Pupils took part in workshops and heard directly from professionals working in an array of industries, including HS2.

Pupils heard directly from guest speakers and asked questions about the industries and the pathways that they can explore.

Over 20 employers gave up their time to support Park Hall Academy’s careers programme including HS2, Royal Air Force, Border Security, Paragon Banking, Kier Construction, Business Management and Service Engineering.

Assistant Headteacher, Rose Churchill said: “Futures Day has been absolutely brilliant, it’s been great to see the pupils listening with interest about routes into the different careers and the key features of the variety of roles.

“Our pupils work hard to secure excellent academic progress, todays event opened their minds to the vast array of career opportunities that they can pursue having achieved such high standards of academic achievement.

“Our goal is for pupils to be enthused about their futures and go on to embrace long and fulfilling careers.”
