School handed top status for inclusion

Solihull Editorial 2nd Dec, 2023   0

CELEBRATIONS are in order at Lyndon School which has been handed Flagship Status by the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM).

The award recognises that the school excels in ensuring equal opportunities for all its young people regardless of their background, gender, ethnicity or academic achievements.

The overarching aim of Flagship status is that an individual school which has achieved this status can now further its work in Inclusion through internal research activities.

Lyndon School says it will develop an outline for a classroom/school based research project which will help build on the already excellent inclusive practice going on in the school.

Abid Butt, headteacher at Lyndon said: “I am delighted that Lyndon has been awarded Flagship status by the IQM.

“Beyond academics, we are committed to fostering the personal and character development of young people.

“We place great importance on promoting character virtues such as resilience, responsibility, and empathy, which are essential for success in both academic and life pursuits.”
