FIVE committee members of the RNLI Solihull fundraising branch have, albeit belatedly due to the pandemic, been presented with framed certificates to honour their dedication and commitment for long voluntary service with the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.
The certificates have been signed by the chief executive, Mark Dowie, on behalf of the chairman and council of the RNLI.
Press and publicity officer David Herriott has completed 49 years service, his wife Hazel 47 years, branch chair and secretary Clive Buckley, 35 years, box secretary Phil Wheeler, 32 years, and honorary treasurer Janet Sharp 30 years.
It total it’s 193 years of voluntary service for which the RNLI said it was extremely grateful.
The RNLI Solihull branch is one of many fundraising branches around the British Isles endeavouring to raise money to support the Lifeboat service in saving lives at sea.
