IT WAS a case of hair today, gone tomorrow for a Knowle retirement village worker.
Dawn Davis, the wellbeing and lifestyle coordinator at Eastcote Park had her long hair shaved off for charity.
During the retirement village’s Elf Day Dawn raised £852 for the Alzheimer’s Society, with the hair donated to wig maker Banbury Postiche.
She said: “A huge thank you to everyone who supported me during the shave.
“The encouragement boosted my confidence and kept me from running from the chair when the clippers came out.
“I’m also so grateful to residents Marion and Beryl who have knitted me a couple of hats, I’m going to need them.
“To everyone who donated, your generosity for such a worthy cause has been amazing.”
Eastcote Park resident, Marie Barrett, (87) added: “I am in awe of Dawn for bravely having her hair shaved off and extremely proud of all the money she has raised for the Alzheimer’s Society.”
