A SLICE of cake and some dancing was in order as veterans celebrated a charity’s 107th anniversary.
Residents at The Royal Star and Garter care home in Solihull showed off their best moves while the Boogaloo Babes sang classics from the 1930s to the 1960s.
Director of care, Pauline Shaw, said: “It was lovely to see the Homes filled with music and laughter as residents helped us celebrate our 107th birthday.
“Our staff take every opportunity to create magical moments for the residents and celebrating our anniversary is a great reason to have fun.”
The Tudor Coppice home cares for veterans and their partners with dementia or disability.
The charity, established in January 1916, was founded following concerns expressed by Queen Mary who charged the British Red Cross Society with finding a ‘permanent haven’ for severely disabled young men returning from the First World War.
