Royal Artillery Band to march for injured troops

THE ROYAL Artillery Band are marching in to support Solihull charity Troop Aid.

The military band will be making a special appearance at the charity’s annual ball on October 7.

The event, held at Solihull’s national conference centre, raises money to help support injured troops on their return to the UK.

Troop Aid provides ‘grab bags’ to wounded soldiers who come home without any of their personal effects or clothing.

The bags provide them with basic essentials, including clothing and toiletries, to help get them back on their feet.

To date, the charity has donated more than 13,000 emergency bags to injured service men and women.

Troop Aid, which was formed 11 years ago, receives no government funding and relies solely on donations, so events like this are vital to help raise money.

Tickets for this year’s event on Sunday October 7 cost £60.
