Rotary photo comp is a huge success

FOR A second year running the Rotary Club of St Alphege Solihull has successfully run a Young Photographer Competition for students of the Solihull Secondary Schools and Colleges.

Touchwood Shopping Centre generously supported the event by sponsoring the £100 first prize in each age category.

The subject for the photographs this year was ‘Reflection’ which resulted in imaginative and artistic interpretations.

The Winner in the intermediate Age category was Harvey Williams of Alderbrook School. The Winner in the Senior Category was Lauren Wilson, also of Alderbrook School.




They are shown in the photograph being presented with their certificates and prizes by Nav Sharma, the Rotary Club President and Lucy Burnett, the Marketing Manager of Touchwood.

Highly Commended awards were also given to Cody Davis, Millie Goldman, Connor O’Dowd and Jack Mansbridge, also students at Alderbrook School.


All the prize winners are shown together with their teacher, Mrs Sally Roundell.

Judges were Simon Maycock, professional photographer, Nick Logan, local professional artist, Lucy Burnett, the Marketing manager of Touchwood and Alan James, 1st Vice President of the Rotary Club of St Alphege Solihull.

A display of the winning photographs can be seen in Manor Walk, Touchwood in the walkway which leads from the Atrium to the Manor Square Exit.
