Rolling out the welcome mat: Solihull bowlers set for re-opening

Solihull Editorial 7th May, 2021   0

SOLIHULL Indoor Bowls Club reopens its doors on Monday, May 17 – with a a special ‘Welcome Back Day’.

With complementary refreshments courtesy of sponsor Karl Badrick of St James Place it promises to be a fun occasion for all.

Through a year of lockdowns and changing government guidance, the club has adapted to ensure members could still continue to

bowl.

Innovative staff and volunteers devised a target game for single players ensuring Covid guidelines were followed but still allowing for

competition between players.

This proved so popular that Sport England have provided the club with funding for this to continue on reopening.

Now with the lifting of some restrictions members will once again be able to meet up with friends and enjoy a game of bowls as before with a full summer programme planned.

Indoor bowling offers a gentle form of exercise, improved mental well-being and excellent camaraderie.

Following a year where many have felt isolated and struggled with mental health issues, Solihull Indoor Bowls Club is encouraging anybody looking to meet new people, learn a new skill and keep physically active to come along and try their hand.

It’s based at Brick Kiln Lane, Solihull, B91 3LE and regular novice sessions are available and new members are always welcome.

For more information visit the club’s website or call 0121 709 2233.
