A ROLEX watch worth £25,000 was stolen during a violent robbery at a Sheldon dentist surgery – and police have now launched a public appeal for information.
The surgery in Sheaf Lane was stormed by two masked offenders on June 28 at midday in front of waiting patients.
The raiders burst into a treatment room, where a woman was undergoing dental work, and snatched the watch.
In the scuffle the dentist was stabbed in the arm with a pair of scissors and sustained minor injuries.
Officers have now released footage of the masked men entering the surgery.
And although the footage is poor quality officers believe someone will know who is responsible.
Detective constable Craig Tennant who is leading the investigation said: “It’s hard to sell a watch like this for the full amount. “We’ve contacted all the local jewellers and they’re aware of the serial number.
“The watch is a Rolex Submariner. It is pretty distinctive so I am appealing for anyone who thinks they may have come across it, or seen it advertised for sale, to get in touch.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the surgery on the June 28.”
