NEW CLASSROOMS and modern dining facilities have been opened at a secondary school.

St Peter’s Catholic School officially opened a new two-storey block to allow the school to deliver additional places and maintain flexibility in meeting short-term demand for school places the borough.

The project also included the building of a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), offering enhanced opportunities for physical education and extracurricular activities for the school and wider community.

This facility will promote health and wellbeing through sport for pupils and local residents alike.

The work was jointly funded by Solihull Council and Our Lady and All Saints Multi Academy Company (MAC), reflecting a strong partnership approach to education provision.

Stuart Shelton, headteacher St Peter’s Catholic School, said: “This new building will serve generations of pupils to come, enabling them to grow academically, spiritually, and personally.

“We look forward with excitement and gratitude to the opportunities it will provide, as we continue our mission to help every pupil use their God-given talents for the benefit of our school, our community, and the wider world.

“I extend a very special thank you to Father Andrew Franklin from Our Lady of the Wayside, who led the blessing of the new building.

“His prayers and presence marked this occasion in a deeply meaningful way, reminding us that everything we do at St Peter’s is rooted in faith, service, and community.”

The work was carried out by E Manton Limited.

This development forms part of the Council’s ongoing strategy to ensure there are enough school places and provide flexible solutions to meet the needs of families in Solihull.

Councillor Karen Grinsell, leader of Solihull Council, said: “This is a stunning facility that really improves the experience the pupils.

“The modern classrooms are a great learning environment and the dining space is absolutely fantastic.

“Thank you to everyone involved in making this project a success, including our own Strategic Land and Property team and all those from the School and MAC.”
