Ribbon cut as Shirley retirement community opens

Solihull Editorial 26th Oct, 2023   0

BBC TV’s Antiques Expert, David Harper, was in Shirley to cut the ribbon at and officially open a retirement community.

Guests at the event, including homeowners from Wheatley Place and their friends and family, heard first-hand from David about his work as an antiques expert and had the opportunity to pose questions to him about his experiences and forthcoming projects.

The new Stratford Road development is overseen by McCarthy Stone Retirement Living PLUS.

Commenting on his visit, David said: “I was delighted to be invited to Wheatley Place for the Grand Opening. It was so wonderful to meet with all the homeowners and their guests, and an absolute joy to be a part of the celebrations here in Shirley.”

Laura Pittaway, divisional marketing manager at McCarthy Stone, commented: “The opening of Wheatley Place was a fantastic occasion, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed meeting David and learning more about his fascinating career both on and off-screen.

“The event was a great success, and, on behalf of the team and our homeowners, we’d like to say a huge thank you to David for making it such a memorable experience for our guests.”
