Remembering Sally: Dog walk for local charities this Sunday

Solihull Editorial 24th Sep, 2021   0

A FUNDRAISING dog walk returns this Sunday, September 26, after a two-year wait because of Covid-related delays.

Hosted in memory of Sally Badger, pooches and their humans can join the Lodders Charitable Foundation (LCF) Dog Walk at Lodders Farm, Whitley, Edge Road, B95 5DT near Henley in Arden, and put their best paw and foot forward.

“Our first Sally Badger memorial Dog Walk took place in 2017, and his year’s event is again in her memory and all of the guide dogs who transformed Sally’s life,” said David Lodder, chair of the Lodders Charitable Foundation.

“Sally Badger is a name that will be familiar to the Henley in Arden community, as through her lifetime, Sally and her guide dogs – first Honey and then Captain – won the hearts of local people.”

At aged ten, Sally suffered a malignant brain tumour that left her partially sighted for much of her life; she sadly passed away in 2017 at just 38 years old.

Tickets for the four-mile Dog Walk cost £5 for adults and £1 per dog, with children free of charge, leaving the farm at 10am this Sunday.

Simply turn up at the starting point at Lodders Farm.
