RUNNERS can now register for the Solihull Half Marathon.

The race is set for April 5, with the Solihull MS Group its nominated charity.

Participants follow a loop on roads from the Virgin Active Solihull Club on Blythe Valley Park.

The starting gun will be fired at 10.30am – entry is £27, reduced to £10 if running in aid of the MS Group.

A spokesperson for Solihull MS Group said: “Any person who takes part, wears one of our t-shirts or running vests and raises funds for us has the much reduced entry fee – we’ll send them a pack with their t-shirt (or vest), sponsor forms and fundraising tips when their details are passed to us.”

Multiple Sclerosis is a disease which affects the nervous system. In MS, the body’s immune system attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. The coating around the nerve fibres (myelin) is damaged, and this then interrupts messages from the brain to the body.

The Group provides support for those people living in the Solihull area who have MS and their families.
