THE ALE was in full flow as Shirley Beer and Cider Festival returned.

Beer-lovers were spoilt for choice at Camp Hill Rugby Club with over 40 ales as well as a selection of ciders, perries (pear cider) on offer at the annual charity event.

Event organisers which includes the Round Table and Ladies Circle said on Facebook: “Thank you to everyone who showed up; this has been our most successful festival ever and we have honestly been humbled by the level of support that we have been shown.

“You drank us dry and raised an incredible amount for charity in the process.

“Thank you to the sponsors, you are part of the festival family and it’s been great to see so many of you at the festival itself.

“Thank you to our volunteers; everyone who runs the festival donates their time free of charge and the army of helpers both on the bar and behind the scenes have made everything run so smoothly and allowed the festival to be such an incredible event.”

Observer photographer Marcus Mingins was on hand to capture a slice of the action.
