KETTLES were boiled and delicious cakes were laid out as Silhillians came together to raise funds for Breast Cancer UK.
The congregation from three churches that form Solihull Parish organised a Breast Cancer UK Afternoon Tea at Oliver Bird Hall in Solihull.
There were cakes a plenty with star bakers bringing in their signature bakes and showstopping delicacies.
A whopping £500 was raised for the charity which gives advice on how people can reduce their risk of getting breast cancer.
John Smith, one of the organisers, said: “We were very pleased with how many people attended.
“And most pleasing was they just wanted to stay and chat to us or amongst themselves.
“They bought cakes to take home when they left. As well as sales on the day we had some donations from people unable to attend.”
