Rain fails to dampen Knowle's platinum jubilee party

Solihull Editorial 7th Jun, 2022   0

KNOWLE came together to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee over the long bank holiday weekend.

There dancing, cakes, church services, a market and songs from a specially formed choir to mark Her Majesty’s 70 years on the throne.

The Knowle Church Jubilee choir, which was especially formed for the occasion, serenaded visitors along the High Street before dance schools Allure School of Dance, Warwickshire Dance Academy and United Dance Academy took to the stage.

The rain failed to dampen spirits as The Soda Pops performed songs from the decades.

The church grounds were vibrant and busy all afternoon with visitors enjoying homemade cakes, children’s activities, a prayer station and the ever-popular bell tower tours.

Dave Pinwell from Visit Knowle said: “We were really delighted to see the community coming together to join in with our Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

“We’d like to thank everyone for coming and making the atmosphere so special.

“We’d also like to thank all the community groups and businesses who took part in a day and made it a day to remember.”
