PUPILS have raised almost £550 for charity through packing shopping.
Cockshut Hill School also led a bake sale, which raised over £100, meaning over £650 was raised for Kids’ Village.
Kids’ Village is set to be a respite holiday village just for children with critical illness to have fun and to be looked after.
This means that, when Kids’ Village is complete, they’ll be able to offer free breaks to families who’ve navigated difficult and exhausting days in hospital, to experience some magic away from the world.
The Cockshut learners also met the Lord Mayor of Birmingham whilst bag packing, Councillor Councillor Zafar Iqbal.
Jody Clarke, principal of Cockshut Hill School, said: “Fundraising and charity work is a vital part of what we do at Cockshut Hill, and we couldn’t be prouder to support an amazing initiative like Kids’ Village.
“As ever, we’re proud of our learners, who conducted themselves with maturity and enthusiasm as excellent ambassadors for the school.”
